Position available: 1-3 years’ PQE Solicitor, focusing on contentious IP matters

We are looking to recruit a solicitor with one to three years post qualification experience in contentious matters with a focus on Intellectual Property.   

We act for a broad mix of clients that range from entrepreneurs and start-ups to multinationals.

Key Duties

  • Mainly contentious work, but the successful candidate will also be asked to undertake non-contentious work from time to time. 
  • All forms of contentious trade mark law as well as other IP dispute work (including designs, copyright, and confidential information) and more litigation (including breach of contract, licensing disputes, and commercial litigation). 
  • Running your own files and assisting on larger matters, supervised by the solicitors at the firm.


  • Must have a good law degree or non-law degree and conversion course.
  • Must have experience of conducting High Court litigation.
  • Must possess excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Must have sat an IP or commercial seat during training contract.
  • Must have sat a litigation seat during training contract.
  • ‘Hands on’ experience of IP disputes including familiarity with Court procedure, drafting cease and desist letters, settlement agreements, and dealing with cases in IPEC advantageous but not essential.
  • ‘Hands on’ experience in filing trade mark applications, registry oppositions and cancellations actions advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong interest generally in digital technology and IP.
  • Be professional, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Possess good IT skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
